David will guide you through every stage of the design, specification and installation process, ensuring a seamless experience. You are also welcome to visit us and see your van as it progresses through each stage of its transformation
A family business
Camping & Campervans: As a young couple, then as a growing family and now as empty nesters, we have always loved camping and camper vans. We have had tents ( large and small ), camper vans, and combinations of the two as the family grew. When our son was 18 months old and before settling in Devon we went on a camping trip for 6 months in Australia. The freedom of it all and the engagement with nature has always been, and continues to be, an enormous draw for us.
Design: I have extensive knowledge of design, materials and manufacturing processes having designed and produced furniture and interiors for all of my working life.
At university I studied Industrial Design, specializing in furniture. After graduating I set up a contemporary furniture making business in London, but London lost its appeal after the birth of our son, so 8 years after setting this up, we decided to move to Devon to be near the sea. I set up another furniture business in Devon specialising in the design and manufacture of bespoke high-end furniture. Over twenty years this grew to employ over 30 full time designers and makers, producing furniture and interiors for houses both in London and the South West.
Vehicles: My father was an engineer and a keen mechanic. We rebuilt bicycles from a young age, and wherever possible things would be made or repaired rather than bought new. As we got older and required cars, something barely alive would be purchased and we would set about repairing, replacing and respraying. This culminated in me completely restoring a 1962 beetle with some help from my wife ( then girlfriend ) who I am lucky to still be with after this project ! And I have continued to work on my own vehicles and now my children's. Daily scrolling Classic Cars and Autotrader is my guilty secret, but it could be worse !
